Dr. Lisa Kellett joined Leah Miller on the set of E! News to talk about the latest treatments for promoting good skin function that give you a healthy glow and skin free from blotches or blemishes.
“Today will be a real treat for you,” Dr. Kellett said to Leah as she prepared to give her a SilkPeel Dermalinfusion treatment. “What that will do is remove the stratum corneum, the dead skin cell layer, and also infuse some [hydrating] agents into your skin and brightening agents.”
The combination of cosmeceutical ingredients work to nourish your skin, allowing it to be better hydrated – so less fine-lines and wrinkles, while also helping your skin diminish those age spots, sun spots or generally dull botchy skin tone due to sun damage.
“You actually probably have to use less make-up, which would be nice,” noted Dr. Kellett.
A popular procedure year round in places like Beverly Hills and New York, it has become increasingly present in cities around the world as people realize that stimulating healthier skin function is better in the long run than simply covering over your skin issues with layers of makeup, which continues the cycle of damage by making it harder for your skin to repair and renew.
Dr. Kellett says, “In the summer time, we often will use it for people who want to freshen up their skin, and also if they do have some pigmentation changes – the typical candidates for this will be people with acne, people who do have some brown spots or sun damage, and people who perhaps are getting ready for a special event. They don’t want to do surgery, they are not interested in doing anything very invasive, but they do want to brighten their skin and make it look better. This is great for that.”
Leah Miller found other benefits as well. “I’m very relaxed right now, and you have the sound of the machine, its like one of those sound machines that you sleep with; its very calming,” she said.
Dr. Kellett agreed. “You can come in and relax. Forty minutes later, your skin looks great!”
