Lumixyl Guidelines for Use

The Lumixyl Topical Brightening System incorporates a series of unique and powerful features to bring brighter, healthier and more even skin tone for all skin types (including darker skin types) in four simple steps:

Step 1: Cleanse with the Lumixyl Active-Prep Cleanser.

  • Morning and Night  Massage cleanser onto skin with a gentle, circular motion.  Rinse with lukewarm water.

Active-Prep Cleanser is formulated like no ordinary cleanser.  Many cleansers have a high pH level, which strips (or actually neutralizes) the skin of its “acid mantle” – that is, healthy skin is naturally acidic, providing a strong barrier of protection against infections that attack the skin.  The pH level of the Lumixyl Active-Prep Cleanser is gentle enough that it does not strip this protective barrier, yet it thoroughly cleanses the skin of dirt, oil, makeup and pollutants.  The antioxidants in the cleanser help to actively prepare the skin for optimal brightening.

Step 2: Brighten with the Lumixyl Topical Brightening Creme.

  • Morning and Night  Start with clean, dry skin.  Apply a thin layer, avoiding the delicate eye area.  It is imperative to use a sunscreen of at least SPF 30 when using this product.  Failure to do so can result in hyperpigmentation.

This Creme is a peptide powerhouse for skin brightening.  It contains the Stanford University discovery – Decapeptide-12. This clinically proven peptide is not a bleaching agent – but studies show that it is more potent than hydroquinone in restraining the enzymes in skin that create melanin.  As such, it is an ideal choice for the treatment of all skin types.  Since it is a potent peptide, a little goes a long way, and only two pumps from the dispenser in the morning and two pumps at night after cleansing the skin are needed.

As an additional brightening measure, try the Lumixyl Revitaleyes Brightening Eye Cream – which addresses all of the major contributing factors to dark circles, puffiness and inflammation, fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes.

Step 3: Exfoliate with the GlycoPeel 10 Brightening Exfoliator

  • Morning and Night  Shake well before use.  Apply a thin layer to clean skin in the morning and at night, avoiding the delicate eye area.

If you have thicker or more naturally oily skin, or more aggressive goals for clearing hyperpigmentation, you may want to consult with your physician or skin care professional about using Lumixyl GlycoPeel 20 Rapid Exfoliating Lotion as a stronger exfoliating alternative to GlycoPeel 10.

GlycoPeel helps to address the removal of old skin spots trapped in the upper layers of the skin.  Skin spots, or hyperpigmented areas of the skin, are simply where pockets of clustered melanin reside at or under the surface of the skin.  Often these pockets will fade away on their own over time through the natural skin exfoliation process.  But that does take some time – so a good hyperpigmentation therapy will include an exfoliant.  This product may give a tingling or even a bit of a stinging sensation the first few times you use it.  This is normal and is a sign that it is getting into the skin to help the exfoliation process begin.  If you are sensitive to this tingling, allow your skin to dry before applying (applying it straight out of the shower for example, will significantly amplify the stinging sensation), and remember, a little bit goes a long way.

Step 4: Protect with the MoistureLock Sunscreen  SPF30.

  • Morning  Every day after cleansing, apply evenly over face, neck and chest.  Children under 6 months of age, ask a doctor.

This is the last step before you venture out for the day, but a critically important one at that.  Apply MoistureLock Sunscreen all over your face and neck to the extent it will be exposed to light during your daily activity.  Re-apply during the day after going in the water or sweating excessively.

MoistureLock provides healthy skin protection in two very unique and important ways.  First, it is an all physical sunscreen with Titanium Dioxide (TiO2).  What is unique about Lumixyl MoistureLock is a very proprietary method used to micronize the TiO2 so that it spreads over the skin very invisibly.  As a result it goes on smoothly with no chalky residue, which is particularly important for darker skin tones, since historically it has been difficult for people of color to find a good physical sunscreen for daily use due to the typically chalky color and consistency found in most other physical sunscreen products.

Another true advance in daily sun protection is included in MoistureLock.  It is a newly developed ingredient called Symhelios® 1031.  What it does is really quite amazing.  Essentially, it protects against the long term damaging effects of UVB rays, reducing stress on skin cells that would otherwise cause damage and lead to a deterioration in tone and texture, leading to more fine line wrinkles.  Together with the proprietary TiO2, this gives MoistureLock a first-of-its-kind level of elegant protection, that is great for all skin types.

With these four steps in place the Lumixyl Topical Brightening System is an effective set of tools to help solve the age-old issues of hyperpigmentation while promoting healthy skin function.  To find a physician dispensing the Lumixyl System as part of their skin care services, click here.
